About Paul DeSalvo
Builder with deep data architecture roots.
I started in the world of data systems because that is where a lot of operational truth lives. But the work has always pulled me further: into cloud platforms, workflow tools, internal apps, AI-assisted systems, and personal products that real people can use.
The throughline is simple: I like turning messy, important problems into systems that feel clear, useful, and durable.

Data, apps, cloud, and AI
Practical systems that help people make decisions and get work done.
How I Got Here
My background is data architecture and data engineering, but I have never been interested in architecture as an abstract diagram. I care about whether the system helps somebody understand a problem, move a process forward, or make a better decision.
That is why my work keeps expanding past pipelines and reports. Once you understand the data, you start seeing the workflow. Once you understand the workflow, you start seeing the tool that should exist. And once the tool exists, you have to make it reliable enough for people to trust.
The goal is not to make technology look impressive. The goal is to make important work feel less tangled.
What I Bring Together
The useful work usually lives between categories, so I try to stay fluent across the whole path.
Data Architecture Roots
Source systems, lakehouse design, semantic models, governance, and cloud foundations are still the backbone of how I think.
Useful Software
I like turning messy operational workflows into tools, dashboards, APIs, automations, and products people can actually use.
AI With Guardrails
The interesting part is not just adding AI. It is tying agents and summaries to trusted data, permissions, rules, logs, and review.
I Also Ship My Own Products
Personal products matter because they prove the same thing in a different setting: I can take an idea from rough shape to a real release, with users, constraints, privacy choices, and polish.
Range of Motion Tracker
A full-stack telehealth app for physical therapists, with pose detection, remote sessions, patient workflows, reporting, and AWS infrastructure.
Little Learners Lab
A shipped App Store education app with bilingual English and Spanish games, privacy-first design, and no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.
Enterprise Systems
Production work across cloud platforms, data products, operational apps, governed analytics, and AI-assisted decision workflows.
How I Work
I am practical by default. I like clean foundations, thoughtful interfaces, and systems that can survive contact with real users.
The Short Version
I build data-powered systems: platforms, apps, automations, and AI workflows that turn operational complexity into useful software.
